The GCC and Iran have had a long period of double digit growth in per capita spending in the food industries sector and the GCC is emerging as a new food security force.
The food industry is Iran’s largest industry after oil and employs 16% of industrial workers in the country. With a US$62 billion market and two hundred thousand square kilometers of farmland, Iran’s commitment to food production growth is only going to grow. Currently Iran produces 100 million tons of food products in commodities including; grains, wheat, barley, soybeans and dairy products.
